Planting partnership

Hello all.

Im looking for some advice please on what I should plant under my Ligustrum. I've just dotted two whips in to provide some hedging and wish to put something in underneath them to compliment the lime green and that will fill my border as shown. imageLooking forward to hearing your thoughts/ideas.

    Hello james.lamb

You say that you want to fill your border ? A good reliable perennial species would be Geranium macrorhizum ; dark pink flowers on sturdy stems about 10-12" high from May to late July ; attractive foliage which can be cut back severely late summer . Good for groundcover and relatively maintenance free !

Several plants will soon cover that area and act as a weed supressant also .
