hi there I have a dicksonia fibrosa which has got to big for conseratory,my question is can I cut it down and replant don't wat to lose it ,thanks,george
I grow a large D.antarctica which stays outside now in Lincolnshire ; only fleeced if extreme cold is forecast ; D.fibrosa is more tender I believe . Interestingly , the entire trunk is actually a root , so if you needed to cut it in half (!) , the top will re-root and grow on as normal

Some tree ferns are hardy outside. in the south ofBbritain.
