What is this nut/fruit?
Found this in Southern Ohio walking in the forest, it's about 1x1 inches, white with red "veins" running through it. There are two slits running side by side that you can view in this image. The shell feels somewhere between soft and hard, when squeezed a red liquid comes out of the slits. Also appears to have a small pointed stem on top like most nuts..what is this?
