Tree Lillies

I have three pots of Tree lilies which have finished flowering. I would like to give them to a friend but don't know when to take them out of pots they are in.  Can you advise please.

Trim off the spent flower head. Leave it until end of September when the leaves will fall off. You can then tip them out, prune the stem off.
