Fuschia question

Hi the purple pods are growing on my fuschia are they a fruit or a seed pod for new plants? Never seen before on the plant!

    that's what they are, the next generation in waiting. Might not seed true but worth trying to see what you do get

    Supposedly they are edible.

    I've tasted mine and they're nothing to write home about, but other varieties may be more flavoursome.  It never occurred to me that fruit means seeds means free plants!  So now I'm going to sow a few and see what happens,
