Grubs/larvae/slugs on lawn

Every morning if I am up early enough there are a number of these creatures on my lawn - seem to be more if the ground is damp.
Anyone able to identify them? Don't seem to be damaging lawn (yet!). Wary of crane-fly larvae but I don't think they look the same.
This is as big as they seem to get. Any thoughts welcome!

Slugs.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Phew. Can live with those (reluctantly).
