Mystery shrub/tree?
in Plants
Can anyone help me identify this legacy shrub/tree please. Been meaning to ask for several years now but usually away when it is in full bloom. It has a lovely perfume and the bees love it!
(It seems pictures are upside down and don't know his to change them)

It looks like Eucryphia, Brush Bush. Possibly Cordifolia, but so many to choose from.
Yes Eucryphia.sp.
Need a good pic of the leaves to narrow it down.
Thanks both, will do some research now I have some pointers.
There you go
Thank you Ladyburd4.... silver surfer I am!
Apologies...now you have turned pics I caN SEE THE LEAVES....
I have changed my mind...to Myrtus..mabe Myrtus communis

I agree with Silver surfer too, it's Myrtus communis. The leaves don't look right now it's sitting the right way round.
Thank you thank you, it is beautiful but the stem/bark is amazing it's almost orange! I do have quite a few seedlings habe planted them in similar situations so they should do as well.

Sorry folks but I think Borderline nailed it Catherine. Its definitely Eucryphia cordifolia. Too large for Myrtle and also not enough petals on the flowers. I have Eucryphia glutinosa in my garden and its equally as stunning.
Just to add to the discussion.
These are the leaves of Eucryphia cordyfolia.
