I can't answer your container question but whatever you do do not plant it in the ground. I am in the midst of dealing with this issue right now and it's not something I would wish on anyone!

I have two tiny ones to plant and having seen DH's pics (or somebody's) I'm giving it serious consideration. I'll probably opt for a very large container sunk into the ground.and see how it goes. I have a bit in my garden with a very small wall round it but I don't know how deep it goes so I'm not taking any chances. They are very beautiful but can be an absolute nightmare.

  • Thanks for the advice both. yes you have confirmed what i was worrying about. would a very large container in the ground work do you think? do they produce suckers beneath the soil surface or above as well?
