Diseased Tomato Plant?!
in Fruit & veg
My bush tomato plant has been doing really well until yesterday when I noticed that suddenly it has produced spots all over... almost a pale dawn colour. It's on the leaves, stems, and tomatoes. First time growing tomatoes, I'm having an awful time with the garden this year. Any help on diagnosing the spots and what to do would be great! Will attempt to post photos....

Can anyone help?
Could the marks be damage caused by strong sunlight on droplets of water?
Are the plants in a greenhouse or outside?
This is a tricky one which is why you have lots of views but no replies. It could be several things depending on where & how you are growing your plant(s). Is it in a pot or growbag or in the open ground? Depending on situation it could be nutrient deficiency, under or over watering. It could be a virus, or fungal disease. Only water at the roots if you water over the whole plant the sun can cause scorch with droplets acting as a lens.. I did look up on RHS and other websites but can't find an exact match. Sorry not to be more help.
Has it been sprayed with anything?
I too have been looking everywhere online and can't work it out. It's a bush tomato in a pot outside. I always make sure to water only at the roots. The weather has been funny though with lots of rain but bright sunshine also.
Not been sprayed with anything. just been fed at the roots.
I am sure you can guess the lines that me & Dove are thinking along . As the marks appear all over on leaves stems & fruit, something sprayed or watered on would be the most obvious thing. A plant in a pot may be subject to nutrient deficiency but the strong green of the leaves would appear to eliminate that as a cause. Looking very hard at the pictures I can just see some darker patches on 2 of the fruits and some leaves which may be blight. Perhaps it is a resistant cultivar which is trying not to succumb. Which bush cultivar is it? A few more days may make it more clear either way.
Thank you both for your replies been very helpful! Im really hoping the brown patches aren't blight.... I have brought it inside in the windowsill on the rainy days. Fingers crossed it will not succumb!!! Being extra vigilant with watering as I think you are right that the other patches are damage from the sun.
