I love the colour and longevity of hardy geranium Rosanne but am constantly hacking it it back when it overpowers the lawn and other plants. Can anyone recommend an alternative variety with a similar colour and flowering season but more compact ?
Hello Zinnia3. I have a hardy geranium called Rise and Shine. It's very similar to Rozanne and think it may be related, but it's not as rampant. It appears later April and I have to say I much prefer it as is more compact and the leaves keep a greener colour and it flowered until late November last year.
I bought Azure Rush not realising that it was a sport from Rozanne, and must admit l prefer it. There is also Brookside and the old variety Johnson's blue, but they may be a bit "sprawley" if that's the word.

Geranium Azure Rush is more compact version of Rozanne.
Many thanks Mark56.......I've Googled it and it sounds ideal.
