Clematis virginianana
in Plants
Ok so since July i have noticed a new plant in our front garden that was not planted by us? we been at our bungalow for 6 years. It is growing really fast and entwinned as it grows up the drain pipes. After much research I am 90% that it is a clematis virginiianna.
How did it get there? and we live in the UK Kent area. Do they survive here? as I am reading that it mainly lives in the USA?
We were worried at first in case it was poison ivy but now from much research i believe it is not.
Please advise
Maria

How about a photo?
A greater probability is our own native Clematis vitalba, Old Man's Beard. But some garden clematis seed around as well
In the sticks near Peterborough
