A picture of your plant will help as all shrubs can have a few brown leaves. Some due to age, others maybe wind damage, scorching due to watering onto leaves, or chemical damage. If you can't send any pictures, is it grown out in the ground or in a pot.
thanks for your reply .I've just found the tag that goes with the plant and it says the leaves turn a bronze colour going into Autumn so i guess it is normal.

Yes - deciduous ones will be turning if you're in a cooler or more northern part of the country.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
