I have found multiple small holes , 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter, in my lawn . I think it must be some insect but can't find out anything that might help. Anyone out there know ?
There seems to be two copies of this post.
Difficult to say about holes could be something emerging like cutworm Chafer grub or Leatherjackets.
All are lawn pests & when they emerge in adult form they may leave a hole. Are you getting a lot of craneflys (flying Daddy longlegs) ? This would be the adult form of Leatherjackets. Could be birds digging for grubs Starlings will come & take leather jackets, Green woodpeckrs will make holes to get ants out, but ant activity should be obvious.
