I'm growing a few large giant sunflowers and all have 1 head forming apart from one that has 10 on one plant?!?! Is that normal behaviour?
I only grow the dwarf ones Torg, it's too windy for the giants in my garden . I think some varieties are multi-headed though. Maybe a rouge seed in the packet?
There are many sunflower varieties that are multi-headed.
I've got three sunflowers growing in my garden that have fallen from the bird feeder.
Two have one head; the other has six heads.
No idea what the seed mix is as of course they were meant for eating but it's quite exciting to watch them form!
