Plant for growing over a wall

Hi I'm looking for some advice. I have just started creating my new garden and need some help. I have a wall at the end of my garden that is a foot high my side and drops about 4 feet to the roadside path. I'm trying to find a good evergreen plant that I could grow up and over to cover some of the broken concrete on the wall. Any advice or help on the would be fantastic

  • Ivy wouldn't be a good idea. Just in case anyone mentions it.

    Maybe a Clematis armandii?

If it's evergreen you are looking for, Holboellia Lactifolia is a robust climber with lovely nodding bell-like flowers. There is added bonus of long purple fruits to prolong the season of interest. Another plant that is not grown in the UK that much, but is still a very worthy evergreen. Hydrangea Seemannii. All the habits of a climbing white hydrangea, but with glossy large evergreen leaves that work its way over walls. These two plants can thrive in sun and shade provided soil is moist.
