... it looks as if it's right by your house wall so it needs to be killed off ... it probably came from a seed in a dropping from a blackbird perched on the roof edge.

Apologies for causing alarm....I must admit I didn't even know the difference between ground elder and common elder... I thought they were the same but clearly checking again, not the same at all.

Looks like Ground Elder. Should be flowering now but if your plant is young it's unlikely yet.

Not Ground Elder, which is a completely different plant and not related.
Borderline had me worried there for a minute ; "ground-elder 10' high" ; imagine tackling that
