Hello to all
We have this shrub growing in our drive but we have no idea what it is? Also it is covered in flies.....they look like regular house flies???
Any help would be very appreciated, thanks in advance.

I have tried post another image but for some reason it wont attach it to the post.....
Looks like a variety of Euonymus japonicus !
Thank you
i have had a little google and you are bang on.
Any idea as to why its covered in flies.....
Thanks
Check the leaves for aphids ; flies are attracted to the sugary bi-product they exude .
(Charming creatures aren't they)? Try giving a good blasting with water , it may help
. A smaller shrub could be sprayed with a dilute soap solution , but yours looks quite large .
excuse my error , I meant 'by-product'
