I confirm Dove's ID, it's a roundish green thing
As mirabelle or cherry plums ripen they turn yellow and then rosy red, and they are delicious.
the trees seed easily and grow fast, don't eat anything growing on a tree near a road, even if it is edible

I have to disagree with both of you, on my ipad it's a roundish yellow thing.?
Whatever it is Lyn, it's obviously ripened a bit since I saw it earlier today
