  • Containerised roses are sold all year round so they will be perfectly ok, just keep them watered for a week or two till they are established. They should do better in the ground.

You should be feeding them regularly if you want to keep them in pots

  • ive been watering and feeding them although we've had some horrendous weather with the rain so they have had plenty of water, as I live over looking the Brecon Beacons then having the very hot weather thete haven't been very much flower on them. So didn't whether putting them in the ground will help them

If your roses are floribundas, shrub roses or roses with very large blooms, it's best they are grown in the ground. Roses in pots in the stores are usually kept quite compact so it's not stressing the rest of the plants. Even if you have patio style roses, it's important to have a large planter. Remember to prune your roses down to the next leaf. This normally stiimulates bud production.

  • Thanks boarderline. I will cut them down in the hope they start to thrive they are in big pots
