Poorly Peas

ColinAColinA Posts: 367

Hello

On our allotments a lot of people are complaining of peas that have not grown to their full height and have given poor crops.

I sowed Greenshaft as usual this year and they have only reached eighteen inches in height on all four rows and given about six pounds in weight

Has anybody else suffered the same

As a usually successful sweet pea grower, mine have performed very poorly this year after a good start. No more than 4ft, few flowers, some mildew and aphids.
I can only put it down to the hot and dry weather we've had in the south-east as I usually get a good display

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

I agree, peas hate drought and many parts of the UK have been incredibly dry this year.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
