Unknown red bug/shell

Hi recently have been finding these little bugs/ shells In My garden on benches kids toys and door frames any idea as  what they are ? Thank you dale

    I think they're ladybird pupae from which adult ladybirds will emerge.

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Thank you for your quick replie you have put My mind at ease was a little worried as there are quiet a few all over my garden will leave them alone ?
