Green dock beetles

Help, my rhubarb is being decimated by  the green dock beetle has anyone any idea how to control it? It has now started on my blackcurrants and raspberry canes there are far too many to pick off.

I will probably get shot down for saying this, but I get them here by the millions, I have lots of wild areas in my garden, I leave all sorts of weeds and insect, but those, yuk, I have to admit to spraying them, they die very quickly with just a plain old bug spray from GC or supermarket. I now get rid of all the dock weed as it comes up.  that does reduce the amounts of them. 

Just to add, I don't feel guilty about doing this as they have 360square miles at the end of my garden to play in, I don't touch anything in the fields or the moors, obviously.
