Bindweed problem

Any tips on getting rid of the above?

It keeps growing over one of my hedges, and my young son and I are forever pulling it out .

I prefer to keep pulling it out. It is by no means the only nuisance in my garden and I would rather go on fighting them than use chemicals like these.
