Apple tree dying but 6ft sucker in front

my ancient apple tree is dying but ther are loads of 6ft suckers in front of it.

The tree itself is in the middle of a round cut out feature in the lawn- and so are the suckers

it is there mainly for screening

Will the suckers grow to be a tree?

shall i just keep one sucker or sort of plait the  together to try n make a trunk? ( i womder if this is a thing or if ive just made this up!!!!)

apple trees are grafted, the suckers will be from the rootstock. The could be a tree but probably not worth waiting for
