Hello, I have this, what I assume is a plant, growing in my neighbours garden just the other side of my fence, it is 3 to 4 metres tall and has a solid stem, any help in identification would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Elder. Sambucus nigra. It makes good compost when shredded and mixed with grass cuttings. The flowers are used for elderflower cordial and the berries make a tart wine.
