Pond edging

We are edging our new pond. OH bought some wood treated with weather proofing chemical. For the techies amongst you, Fenoxcarb and Didecylpolyoxethyl-ammoniumborate. I'm concerned these may leach into the water.  I think we should use an untreated hardwood. What do you think?

    Don't know, it's a pretty long word though, mine's  edge with grass and weeds?
