Geranium cuttings

i bought some trailing pelargoniums or geraniums for my window boxes 6 years ago and took cuttings and then cuttings off the cuttings each year. They've not done so well this year and I was wondering if you can keep doing this indefinitely or if you should buy new stock occasionally.

    Thay can pick up viruses over time so best replaced every few years.  However, perhaps the soil in the window boxes is tired and needs replacing?

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    no sign of virus and I replace soil every year so maybe the mix was not so good this year. Will take more cuttings for next year and see what happens.
