we got this as a present from a great aunt..

now its beginning to grow and we need to know what it is called and where it likes to grow

Looks like an Ice Plant Sedum to me - the bees will love you. :-)

Any day now those flower heads will start to turn pink. As long as it's getting some sunshine it's happy.  You can leave it in the pot or plant it out.  The clump will get bigger each year and then you can split it. Tortoises like to eat it.
