Stella cherry tree

Just picked the cherries off my Stella, now need to prune as branches hanging over pathway. How and when to do this? The tree is about 7 years old.

    It's fine to start pruning it now or in the next month. But not ideal to prune heavily. Just shaping and cutting the smaller branches. On a seven year old tree, it's fine to do that.
