using round logs for a border

I bought 36 round logs in Wyevale last year, they are 300mm long and 125mm diameter, along the length there is a groove where one fits into the other. I would like to make a curved border edge, but am unsure how to fit them together. I was thinking of forming the curve on the flat, screwing them together then lifting them into place. Has anyone used this type of edging?
