Roses

Hi there .hope someone can help. This year I have a bug in my rose flowers. Not all roses affected. They look similar to a flea that doesn't jump and shiny. Have been spraying plants regularly this year but can't spray these as to irradicate them I would have to spray the flower itself therefore harming the flower let alone any bees that visit. Can't find any pics to help me on this matter, they are very small and congregate around the stamens, if not there then on the petals leaving holes. Help...... My roses are the most important flower in my garden.

They're almost certainly harmless pollen beetles.
They are annoying, but wont harm your roses.

Pete8 thank you , at least I know what they are now although I don't like the holes they are leaving. Never heard of them before. Thanks again .

They won't touch the petals, they eat only pollen and do no harm at all.
The annoyance is when you cut some flowers to bring indoors and the beetles start dropping off onto whatever is below. I had about 6 crawling up the kitchen window earlier from some sweet p's - they soon disappeared
