Hi basically I've started renting a house and the garden needs a bit of TLC there are quite a few bare patches within the grass just wondering what would be the best way to fix this

The easiest way is to buy some grass seed and sow in the bare areas. But before that, give the area a rake to loosen the soil's surface. Spike the area with a fork to allow for good drainage. Top dress with crumbly free draining soil. This can be garden compost mixed with the garden's soil. Work it in with a stiff broom and then broadcast the seed as directed on the pack. You may then sprinkle a bit more of the soil used on top and water in. Keep the patches watered to help the seeds germinate.
