As a new gardener this is my first season of really paying attention to what crops up when, and i'd love to know the name of this plant; which seems to be everywhere right now, particularly crevasses in walls.

This is red valerian (Centranthus Ruber) and the white version too but saying white red valerian just sounds mad. It self seeds all over the place. Buy one, get two hundred.

Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is a plant of damp places. Its very pretty and smells lovely but this isn't it.
