if you live in the south of France probably, however, I take mine in the greenhouse before the first frosts, October? and I live in SE UK fairly near the sea.
I live in the southwest and I have tried both methods, the ones in the garden did not survive the winter so I put mine in the summerhouse for the winter.
Mine don't survive in the ground either, I leave them in their pots over Winter, putting the pots close to a wall for protection, divide them in the Spring.
Thank you all for your answers. That's what I have been doing, looks like I will have to continue bringing them into the conservatory. I started off with one in a pot two years ago, now I have three large and one small pot. I have managed to grow several from seeds.
