Did I sow these?!

image

I know, right! image

I sowed some Cornflower 'Black Ball' and some Rudbeckia and now there are lots of little green shoots.

Except I don't know which are the above and which are weeds?!

So this is a real long shot to see if any of you know or do I have to wait and see.

They have been sown between semi- established plants - put in in May, so I don't want to allow weeds in my new bed. It was top soil with manure so I guess weeds could be present anyway?

    Hi sweet eye image

i think the third pic are the corn flower seedlings, the ones with the long narrow leaves image

  • Oh Lordy, does that mean all the others are weeds then?

Perhaps they are Rudbeckia? Anyone recognise them?

I dont  think there's any Rudbeckia there.

Oh dear! Thank you Lyn, guess it'll give me something to do tomorrow then. So only leave the tallish ones in the last picture, yeah?

    I agree with BM.

How can you lie there and think of England

  • Thank you :) I've located all the Cornflower seedlings now and will keep a very close eye on the others. I've pulled out a few that were completely different to the others that looked more 'weedy' if that even makes sense haha

Don't think I'll be sowing seeds directly into a bed again, I don't like now knowing what's coming up or worse still, spreading it's potentially invasive roots all around image

The seedlings at the bottom of picture 1 could any Brassica, whereas the ones on the left of picture 2 might be chenopodium.

     Thank you Dimwit

After googling they look very much like what you've said.

Im presuming they were present in the top soil. So much for my Rudbeckia seeds!

At least I can get tidying that bed up now image
