Bumble bee nest in lawn

I've just cut down my over grown lawn to find a bumble bee nest in the bottom of the grass. I don't wanna get rid of it. so I was wandering if it would be ok to put an upside down plant pot, with holes in it over the top, to mark the spot? (so I don't stand on it!!!) I'm guessing it would, but just asking to air on the side of caution incase it may upset them. Cheers

yes, get them covered up, I'd go for a shallow flowerpot on the slant so they can enter from underneath it.
